The Goomeri State School P&C is a group of community minded people, parents and citizens, who take on a more formal role to assist the school by providing:
feedback on school policies and activities
additional resources to be used to enhance student learning
parents with opportunities to be involved in their child's education.
Research has shown that parent involvement in a child's education makes a significant contribution to the child's success at school.
Goomeri State School P&C have fundraised actively working towards air conditioning classrooms in the school. Their goal now is to cover the multipurpose courts.
In addition to this they have:
purchased interactive whiteboards for classrooms
assisted the student council in purchasing new lockers
continue to pay 50% of the Arts Council so that all students can attend
hold a Meet & Greet BBQ for families and staff at the beginning of the year
work with Student Council to hold 2 discos a year for students.
General meetings are held monthly and are advertised in the school newsletter and on the school Facebook page. The AGM is held in February. Everyone is welcome to attend.
