Students in Year 1 - 7 will have varying
degrees of homework dependent on the year level, class activities and student
abilities. Homework may consist of some or all of the following:
(a) Number Facts
(b) Spelling
(c) Reading
(d) Subject Revision/Extension
Students
in Years 8 - 10 will be given the following three types of homework during the
year in each subject:
(a) Set Homework: This is work set by the class teacher for
presentation at the next timetabled class period.
(b) Assignment Work: This is set over a period of several days or
weeks to be handed in on a set date. Students should enter details of
assignments in their homework diary.
(c) Study Homework: This will always be necessary and is the
additional learning that involves revision of the material covered in previous
lessons. This revision is necessary to consolidate the classroom lesson
and to maximise learning. This type of homework is vital not only prior to exam
periods but also throughout the year.
